Runs 09-26-2010 through 10-01-2010
The late 16th century began the adventure and exploration of technical virtuosity of the painted canvas. Many students, both new and experienced, have traveled to Italy and looked upon the work of Titian Caravaggio, or Michelangelo and wondered how such effects could be created. Having been apprenticed to his grandfather from an early age, Dr. Michaels Sullo has the" passed down" technique used by the masters. The knowledge of generation after generation of fine Italian artists has been instilled in this master of the brush. Students attending these classes will be introduced by demonstration and hands-on experience to techniques not usually taught in American schools of art. You'll explore mediums, their proper use and creation. Choice of pallets for the dominant effect of a particular master. Step-by-step guidance through toning of canvas to under painting ,velatura for color and glazing for control. All the processes used by the masters explained and demonstrated. More than that you will learn to THINK like an artist.
