Fr. Norman is a native of Springfield, Massachusetts. He attended local schools and entered the postulate of the Marianists in Beacon, NY to finish high school. After professing vows as a religious brother, he attended the University of Dayton, graduating with a B.S. in Business Education. During this time, he attended Villanova University, graduating with a M.A. degree in Guidance. While a Brother, he taught business courses in high schools in Pennsylvania, New York and Florida. In addition to teaching, he also held positions of guidance counselor and Director of Guidance. He remained with the community for 18 years, and in 1979 left the community to enter the Blessed John XXIII Seminary where he received a Masters in Divinity degree as was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Springfield in May, 1983. Since ordination, Father has served as parochial vicar, administrator, and pastor in several parishes. Father has also spent 10 years in campus ministry serving the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and Western New England College in Springfield. In September, 2007, he came to St. Edmund’s Retreat to minister as part of the staff.
