Sr. Marguerite Tierney, CSJ

Sr. Marguerite  is a Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet of the Albany province in New York.  Sister’s first degrees and certification are in education.  She received her master’s from Syracuse University – College for Human Development, in Marriage and Family along with a certification in Pastoral Counseling from Onodaga Pastoral Counseling Center.  Sister holds credentials in alcoholism/addictions counselor and intervention specialist.  Sister’s background in spirituality and direction is from Catholic University, the Jesuit School at Berkeley and a certificate from Mercy Center in Colorado for working with mandalas in spiritual direction. 

            Sr. Marguerite has directed retreats and provided spiritual direction in a number of retreat houses, sabbatical programs and at home.  This is now Sister’s full time ministry.  For many years, Sister worked with a team at Christ the King Retreat House in Syracuse, then sponsored by the New York Jesuits.  For eight years served as a spiritual companion for clergy and religious who were on sabbatical at Wellsprings, Glen Falls, NY.  Presently, Sister works with individuals and groups at her own Provincial House.
