Fran is married to Joseph A. Karpiej and they are the proud parents of two married children, Donna Marie Ackerman and Paul A. Fraleigh.  Fran has been involved in the corporate world in the positions of Executive and Legal Secretary.  She serves as a notary public in the state of Connecticut since 1971.  Fran is very involved in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, founding groups and serving as Diocesan Coordinator from 1985-1997.  Fran is a Third Order Carmelite in the St. Elias Province.  Fran continues to minister in the church as Retreat Director, presenter for various parish programs, and as a spiritual director.
