Dear Friends:
For over eighty years the roof of Enders House has protected the Enders Family, the members of the Society of St Edmund and the many retreatants who have stayed in this 1920’s Arts and Craft Home of Alys Enders. It has withstood windstorms and hurricanes, the beating sun of hot summer days and the icy driving rain of the great nor’easters. However its service is at an end – the roof must be replaced to stop the leaks in this beautiful landmark.
We turn to you today for your help. It will cost $69,500.00 to remove the roof, patch the leaks and replace the roof with new shingles. If everyone who comes to
Shingles are $10.00 each and your gift of one shingle or 100 shingles will make a real difference in the restoration and renewal of this magnificent home. You can order them individually or in groups. A single shingle doesn’t do a lot, but 6,900 shingles covers the whole house. It’s like a community of people working together: we can move mountains when we work together for a common goal.
Please donate today. Your gift of a single shingle or a pallet will be appreciated by all for the next 80 years!
Donate: A pallet of Shingles for $1,000.00
½ Pallet of Shingles for $ 500.00
¼ Pallet of Shingles for $ 250.00
Individual Shingles for $ 10.00
You may also be part of this critical and historic project by making a secure, on-line contribution or by calling (860) 536-0565, ext. 112.
God bless you in your response and for all you do for St. Edmund’s. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Fr. Thomas F.X. Hoar, SSE, Ph.D.
