2/12/10 - Married Couples Retreat

Runs 02-12-2010 through 02-14-2010

The couples retreat will look at the love between husband and wife in the context of Pope Benedict XVIs’ encyclical Deus Caritas Est  which begins… “God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him” (1 Jn 4:16).

The weekend will provide an opportunity for the participant couples to listen to each other, to pray with each other and to reflect on how as couples we mirror God’s love for us.Through quiet time couples may reflect on how they express their love in the ordinary events and challenges of life.  There will be several talks, opportunity for individual, couple and group reflection all centered around prayer and a profound listening to each other.  God Loves us… how do we love God?God Loves Everyone… how do we express God’s love for our self, spouse, family and everyone?God Serves… how do we serve our families and others?God Forgives… how do I forgive ourselves, our families and others? Throughout the reflection on the weekend, the couples will have the opportunity to write a prayer for each other and to renew their marriage vows.
