Sr. Corita is a member of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, and was Director of the Divine Compassion Center for Spiritual Renewal in White Plains, NY until Fall, 2006. She is a retreat director, spiritual director, teacher and author. Since 1978 Corita has directed retreats and since 1996 has directed on the 36- day program of the Spiritual Exercises. From 1977-1991 she taught summer graduate courses in prayer, compassion, and spirituality for ministry at the Institute of Pastoral Studies, Loyola University, Chicago. She was an adjunct Associate Professor in the Graduate School of Religion at Fordham University 1992-2008. Corita has been a speaker and guest director at various communities and centers in the United States.
Personally grounded in Ignatian spirituality, Corita's interests in spirituality include Scripture, theological reflection, ministerial spirituality and spiritual direction.
Her interest in the integration of prayer and action led to her book A Spirituality for Active Ministry (Sheed and Ward, l991) and " A Spirituality of Action", Chicago Studies (August, l990). She has published articles in periodicals such as Review for Religious and Living Prayer. Corita is a member of Spiritual Directors' International and the Catholic Theological Society of America.
