Verses on the First Sunday of Advent:
Before the curtain rises and the baton moves,
before the gift is given and the box unwrapped,
before the hand is held and the kiss received;
there is a moment,
so slight,
so real.
Brushed again by a whisper,
the Word,
"alive".
An advent,
another Advent,
so thin and lingering a presence at this dusk,
wafting through raked leaves and wet grass.
This Advent,
so close,
sweeping the soul,
just for an...
instant,
with the truth of a God who always comes
and
never really leaves.
