Director of Facilities
From his earliest involvement with Enders Island, Dave remembers being deeply moved by how welcoming the environment was, and he instantly wanted to be a part of making the place even more inviting - and to help accomplish this in a frugal and responsible manner. Early on, Dave coordinated volunteers alongside his other responsibilities: maintenance, grounds, landscaping, construction, and program set-up, making himself available for anything and everything that was needed. He soon was promoted to Chief Engineer and later to Director of Facilities. One of his most cherished memories came early on when he oversaw the construction of the new chapel as the Clerk of the Works. What Dave considers most rewarding of all is working with the young men in residence and helping to provide a place where people can come and benefit in the many ways they do - in fostering the beauty they encounter here and partaking in the homeliness and friendship which makes Enders Island unlike any other facility he's ever worked for. During his time off-island, Dave enjoys frequenting local cuisine and taking out his boat "Fish & Chicks" with his family. Both of his sons, Danny and Joey, have worked alongside him, and his wife is one of the many volunteers that keep everything running smoothly.
