Since 2016
Deb Neuman

Executive Director of Development and
Community Engagement
As a newcomer to Mystic in 2015, Deb found Enders Island during a bike ride that she says changed her life. Discovering that the Island needed help with its fundraising activities, she asked Father Tom if she could help. He said yes, and she spent the year as our volunteer development director. In October 2016, Deb’s role was formalized when she joined the staff to continue building strong philanthropic and community support for our mission. Prior to joining our team, Deb spent 13 years in nonprofit leadership as head of external relations for CARE USA, the University of California San Diego, and the Arthritis Foundation. Before that, she was a communications executive with IBM. She and her husband, Paul, live in Mystic and share a passion for the mission of Enders Island. In her spare time, Deb still loves biking and, inspired by Enders Island’s “dahlia lady,” is learning to grow dahlias.
