Royal Icon Studio
Veronica Royal has studied icon writing with Russian, Greek, and American master iconographers since 1995. She has been painting commissioned works for private individuals and public institutions worldwide. She first conceived a love for icons in the Ukranian community where she lived.
Royal Icon Studio has recently been featured in the National Catholic Register, Catholic Herald, Catholic News Service, and the Adoremus Bulletin regarding the installation of the Baptism icon at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Annandale, VA.
Veronica has also been featured in élan Magazine and the British Association of Iconography Review, where she shares how she became an iconographer and her love for the art. She also exhibits yearly in galleries and churches in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
For the last 10 years, Veronica has overseen student iconographers in her Open Studio, which meets every Saturday morning. Every year she runs workshops for the Arlington Diocese Fiat organization.
Veronica is available to give lectures on the history and spirituality of iconography and iconography workshops to schools and private groups.
A professor at the Catholic Distance University, Veronica teaches a yearly seminar on the history and spirituality of iconography.
