Special Assistant to the President
Janet first began volunteering at Enders Island in 2004 when she and her husband moved to the area from their home in Pennsylvania. Early in 2005, Janet became a receptionist in the front office, a job which quickly developed into a more involved collaboration with the Programs Director. During her time as an Administrative Assistant, Janet worked tirelessly with registrations for St. Edmund's Retreat, keeping track of the weekly schedule, greeting retreatants, answering the phones, responding to emails, and keeping the office running smoothly. Perhaps Janet is best known for her ability to go wherever she is needed, and for completing each task with a smile. She remembers a time when she nearly won a contest against Claire St. Clair over who could made the most beds - but it ended in a tie. Today, Janet is retired from the front office and assists in the Development and Finance offices in the main Enders House. Janet's many years of experience and knowledge of the island continue to help form and guide new staff members to this day.
