St. Edmund's Retreat on Enders Island is recognized as one of the premiere Catholic retreat centers in the northeast. It is well-grounded in the lived experience of the Church. True to our heritage and the founding charism of the Society of St. Edmund, we embody St Paul’s sense of hospitality: “You are strangers and aliens no longer — but members of the household of God.”
People of all faith backgrounds - including those without faith - are invited to make a retreat on Enders Island. Laden with beautiful gardens, memorable landmarks, and a breathtaking view, it is the perfect place to encounter God, surrounded by the grandeur of his creation. Whether it's just for the weekend, a full week, or even several weeks, St. Edmund's Retreat is a reliable and hospitable environment to spend ample time in prayer and reflection either as part of a group, or in private - interacting with our community or enjoying the silence.
We are particularly mindful of those whose life experiences have alienated them from God and the Church. As the Constitution of St. Edmund states, we are called "to be where the Church would not normally be." Therefore, we are compelled to bring this message of hope to all, especially those who are broken and lost.
